Privacy Policy

Last updated: 5 October 2026
Short version: we collect nothing.

Fondly is built to keep the people you care about close — privately. The app stores everything on your device. We do not run servers that receive your data, we have no accounts, and we show no ads.

What Fondly stores

The names, notes, photos, tags, locations, dates and contact details you add live in Fondly's own storage on your device (and, if you turn it on, in your personal iCloud). That information is yours.

What we collect

Nothing. Fondly contains no analytics, no tracking, no advertising SDKs, and no third-party data collection. We never see your data and cannot access it.

Contacts

If you choose to import from Contacts, Fondly reads your address book only to show you a list to pick from, and only the people you select are copied into the app. This happens entirely on your device. Fondly never uploads your contacts anywhere.

iCloud

If you enable iCloud backup or sync, your Fondly data is stored in your own iCloud account under Apple's privacy terms, so it can appear on your other devices. We have no access to it. You can turn this off at any time in the app's settings.

Sharing

When you share a person, your own card or a birthday-card image, Fondly creates the file on your device and hands it to the iOS share sheet — it goes only where you choose to send it, and never through us.

Voice dictation

If you tap the microphone to dictate a note or a search, Fondly uses Apple's speech recognition in on-device mode, so your voice is turned into text on your iPhone. Audio is never recorded, saved or sent to us or anyone else.

Notifications

Birthday and keep-in-touch reminders are scheduled locally on your device. They are not sent through any server.

Children

Fondly is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect data from anyone. Because we collect no data at all, this applies to users of every age.

Purchases

The optional one-time unlock is processed by Apple through the App Store. Apple handles the transaction; Fondly only receives confirmation that the purchase succeeded. See Apple's privacy policy for how Apple handles payments.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, we will update this page and the "last updated" date above.
